Where we are

Membership of our group is on an Annual basis, with subscriptions being called for on and from the 1st January each year. Subscriptions cover the cost of public liability insurance and personal accident insurance. Members receive a newsletter when needed along with the use of a small meeting hut near the track in the park. Other benefits are the ability to gain advice from others and being able to seek help with any problems found while attempting to build a model. Any member that runs locomotives by steam power are also provided with the facility to have their boilers tested under a scheme run within the regulations covered by the Insurance Company. This boiler testing is normally carried out once a member has been with us for a limited period and with advice from the boiler testing team within the club. Members meet at the club track on most Sunday mornings during the year, timing around 9-30am until 12-00 lunchtime. During the warmer summer evenings we meet there on Wednesday evening’s, time from around 6-30pm until we decide to leave. Winter time meetings are arranged at the Fordbridge Centre in Ashford Town, these are held on alternate Thursday evenings between 19-30hrs and 21-30hrs in the Quiet Room on the first floor. Prospective members should be aware there is no demand they are directly interested in building a model, just an interest in helping to operate the railway would be cause enough for them to be welcomed into our group. Tea/coffee along with biscuits and sometimes cake is a normal part of any of our meetings.  Finally the current subscription rate for membership is set at £30-00 per year.
